In the last couple of weeks, things have really started to show their colors and that is what I love most about spring, which happens to be my favorite season. It smells, feels, and looks so good after a New England winter. It really gives a boost to the senses. Here are a couple of reasons why I love this time of year...

Winter on the Lake

Although many may say New England winters are harsh and challenging but , since we moved out here, I have a greater respect and love for the beauty of this season. Don't get me wrong, the 'love' part has nothing to do with icy road conditions, sub zero wind chill factors, or oil deliveries. It is the times when I look out the window and see the sparkling of the sun on the newly fallen snow, or people clearing a spot to spend the day ice skating or ice fishing. To watch the tiny juncos, with their tiny twiglike legs, seem to play on the deck as they kick the snow searching for food showing no effects of the winter cold. I feel fortunate to have the chance to observe things that are so naturally perfect and it often offers a sense of calmness and that all is right in the world.
